Historical Hartford Mural

Schnorenberg's Floor Covering

In collaboration with Joan and Gerry Schnorenberg, James Barany has created the mural concept for Schnorenberg's Floor Covering in Hartford, WI. The mural, spanning historical and local elements, features the Gerry Schnorenberg's parents (and the original owners of the store) on their wedding day, local workers, the historic East Park (now Willowbrook Park) Bridge, a Kissel Kar Fire Truck, and scenes of midwestern family life and agriculture. This vibrant depiction honors local veterans, service workers, and iconic Hartford structures while maintaining a vintage aesthetic with colorful accents. The project commenced on May 28, 2024, and is expected to be completed by June 14, 2024.

Oriole and Wood Violet Mural

Hank's Restaurant & Drinkery

Special thanks to artist John Kowalczyk and his assistant Abbey Gagne for bringing Hank's mural to life in September 2022. The mural, depicting Hartford's bird, the oriole, and Wisconsin's state flower, the wood violet, adds a vibrant touch to the wall of Hank's Restaurant and Drinkery. This beautiful artwork marks the first of many installations planned by the Art in Hart committee. This initiative aims to enhance Hartford's public spaces with more vibrant murals in the future.
